Babe doesn’t get excited about toys. She never has. Occasionally she’ll lay down and chew on a rubber toy, but that only happens once or twice a month. Babe is more of a food-driven pup. And when she’s not eating, she’s snoozing. It’s a nice, even life for her.
Banjo is extremely toy-driven. When she’s excited, she has a toy. When she’s playful, she has a toy. When she’s nervous, she grabs a toy. When it’s time for dinner, she runs to find her ball.
We haven’t yet renewed our BarkBox subscription since moving to Connecticut and Banjo’s toys were showing some heavy wear without the usual monthly renewal. So the other day I ordered about a half dozen toys for her from King Wholesale.
I had to replace her Flea. The old one was looking a little ragged.
And I had to replace one of her favorite toys — the Chuck It! indoor ball. I’d already thrown out the old one because it was so ratty and smelly. She had definitely noticed its absence and was over the moon when I gave her the new one.
It was like Christmas in the summer. Oh! And Babe got some edible treats as well.

our Bert loves his toys…
The flea is adorable! My pup tends to destroy his stuffed toys (stuffing everywhere within a day or two).
I know a few dogs like that. Do you ever buy some stuffed toys knowing that they’re going to be destroyed momentarily, just for him to have a brief blast?
Yes – I’ll look in the sale bin or a discount store and get him one for a few dollars. It’s worth it 🙂
Really enjoy reading you and your dogs, I would like to see your paintings!
Thanks! They’re a lot of fun.
I have a couple posts about my artwork here: https://pigdogbigcity.com/2016/07/11/pet-art-is-my-day-job/

Thank you Allison, for the link, I love your art and you dog too, your muse is so cuuute 😉
Banjo is so cute! I have a boxer as well, Stella, who is also toy obssessed. At any given moment, our apartment is littered with toys.
I love how much boxers enjoy toys!
